Quilty365 2nd Feb 2016

It has been an interesting month, I found a draw of Kasuri fabrics from Japan these have to be my favourite fabrics they are difficult to make but worth every moment that is spent creating them.

Kasuri circles

Kasuri circles I mixed these in to my next 40 Qulty365 circles I’m sewing together now.

Made these circles up mid Jan 2016

Caught in my roof two days ago????

This cage is 16inches long and 7inches deep so he is very very big, his tail is around 14inches long longer than he is . When he stretched out he filled the cage.  We relocate them as they are protected.  OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Your kasuri is just beautiful – what a treasure and you are using it so carefully and beautifully.

Hi Cynthia thanks for dropping in, I’m guessing that you still miss Japan, like you I have been lucky enough to spend many months at a time there, for me it has been a 50 year love relationship. It is wonderful now to make a quilt just of Japan’s beautiful fabrics. Cheers Glenda

  2. Karen says:

love your circles and your garden! the little creature not so much 🙂

    • glenda says:

Hi Karen in my last blog I showed the tiny wee bats that fly around our house, by accident as I opened the front door around 5.30am this morning one flew inside, I was so scared for it as the large over head fan was going, luck was on its side and after about 10mins he found the open door. So after saying yesterday they don’t come inside it did LOL. Hugs Glenda

Your fabric is wonderful. Makes the circles have so much depth!

    • glenda says:

Thanks for taking the time to drop in Audrey, what a wonderful group you have started, what a joy it is to visit so many other quilters who are doing the same project and visit thier sites, it is wonderful not only to see their quilting but many live in wonderful and beautiful parts of the world. Thanks for a wonderful new adventure for 2016. Cheers Glenda

  4. Jenny says:

Love how your 365 circles are coming together. Is that a Bush Rat? you say it is protected so what really is it?
    Hugs Jenny

    • glenda says:

LOL Yes Jenny he is a rat But a White Tailed not a bush rat. White tails can be heavier than a kilo and the size of a rabbit. They are up here in the FNQLD and up through PNG. Tail has no fur on it but very small scales that over lap and it feels like sand paper! It can chew it’s way out of a metal tin, we used a home made trap first made out off a metal drum by morning he had chewed his way out? Hugs Glenda

  5. Your project is spectacular — such gorgeous circles. Your other photos are beautiful (like Karen said – the little creature, not so much)

    • glenda says:

Thanks for your positive response, I have to say the same of your stunning Old McDonald blocks you have just made in greens they are SPECTACULAR . Cheers Glenda

  6. Paulette says:

Gorgeous! Beautiful fabrics and design for your circles quilt.

    • glenda says:

Thanks Paulette, I have collected Japanese fabrics for many many years on trips to Japan and have so many pieces it is lovely to be able to show them like this. I like how you had a blue month in Jan then red month this month, they look stunning you have lots of lovely clear colours. Cheers Glenda

  7. lyn lewis says:

Is that a rat and if so are they protected there?! urghhh lol
But I love your circles, such delicious fabrics too : )

    • glenda says:

Hi Lyn, yes these white tail rats are protected by law, there are not a lot around compared to the bush rats. They don’t worry me till they get cheeky and move on to. The verandas at night time then it is time for them to move on LOL. I’m sure having fun with my Quilty365 circles that Audrey started in Nov, I started late Nov early Dec I will have to look it up. Cheers Glenda

  8. Doris says:

So good to see how your quilt is growing. Wonderful colors.

    • glenda says:

Hi Doris, I did reply to your note but it has disappeared in to cyber space!! Thanks for dropping in, I dropped in to your site before and LOVE the way you are putting your Quilty365s together and such a lovely quilting design too. I’m thinking of doing sashiko quilting around my circles time will tell Cheers Glenda
