WOW 30th Jan 2014 with Esther http://www.estheraliu.blogspot.com/

I'm far from Part 8 but I just had to have a wee play making those dutch pixies so I could see how my LE would look, they are such fun to make.

I'm still managing to make an odd mine afghan square now and then.

I did find time to sew 4 off these squares together, but it is taking a long time tiying off all the ends have managed to do one square so far. But it is going to be worth the effort, it is off to South Africa around mid June.

We are on cyclone alert so no beach today instead busy getting ready for the cyclone or lots of rain, yesterday was spent putting up the first of the tarps to protect the side where all the rain comes and this helps keep the rain off the side veranda and under the house were every thing is put from out side like pot plants, garden furniture any thing that is movable so it does not become a flying missile. Of course if a cyclone hits us it will all go but if it is the edge of a cyclone we will git metres of rain so this will keep us dry to it blows out.

Every thing you can see on the paves will need to be put undercover if the cyclone keeps coming our way!!!!!

even this water fountain and surrounding sheets of metal, as they can become lethal weapons flying through he air.

DGS just turned 5

DGD just turned 1 she loves to read.

First day at school yesterday, it has been a busy week of birthdays and back to school for all the Grandchildren.

Kookaburra sitting on the chair beside the fish pond??????

Now he is just above the fish pond??????

Now he has his head in between the bars trying to catch the fish?????? It did not take him long how to work out how to catch them???? I have now added some fine wire netting as well to stop him I hope?????

Signing off now in case we have another power cut. Will try and link with Esther nowhttp://www.estheraliu.blogspot.com.

Happy sewing all who sew Cheers Glenda

stay safe!! hope it doesn’t hit you. Lovely photos as always

  2. Jenny says:

Love the photo’s of your family and your LE is going to be gorgeous.
Battening down early for a cyclone, or a near miss is vital, 6 years in Raro taught us this. Stay safe, will be tracking what is happening, Hugs Jenny

Hi Glenda, I’m far from completing Part 8 too!! At least you’ve made it this far and goodness knows how productive you’ve been with your time, especially given that you have your family around you – and with birthdays and school -what a beautiful time for you to treasure. I love your kookaburra pics!! They made me laugh, I’ve been watching some birds sneak over to a bowl of dog food I’d left out for the grand-dog…hop in, steal some food and then hop out again – as if nothing has happened! I think we could both spend all day quilting outside enjoying nature!

Thinking of you in this cyclone weather too.

  4. Anne Marieke says:

Keep safe dear Glenda! Fingers crossed that the cyclone will fizzle out before it reaches your home.

Your grandchildren are adorable. Aren’t you Lucky to have them so close to you.

Your Love Entwined is going to be a beautiful heirloom. I have been tempted too to try part 8, even though I still have two vases to complete.
    Hugs,
    Anne Marieke

  5. Elaine says:

Stay safe Glenda! Your LE is looking wonderful. I have started an embroidery with the silk you sent me 🙂 pictures soon…

  6. Bunny says:

Be safe hope all is well. I also am no where near part 8 and those pixie things don’t look like fun to me LOL. I have not put a stitch to mine in over a week. They finally came this week to finish painting and fixing the baseboards from the flood. So I had to empty all closets and do over so today a good clean is in order. I also have been playing with hexagons lol, with Karen from Faeries and fibers. I need another thing to do like I need a hole in my head lol. Your LE is beautiful.
    Hugs Bunny
