WOW 4th Dec 2013 with Esther http://www.estheraliu.blogspot.com

Very little sewing done this week, I’m trying to work around a house full of extra furniture while the veranda’s get painted, but the termites have been discovered under the house and all painting has stopped till that problem is solved and that will be a couple of weeks.  I have been making some 2 1/2 ” wool afghans to replace damaged one in my kingsize old old afghan throw.

I found this lovely afghan in an Opp Shop it is made up of 2 1/2 " squares mostly 1 ply wool there are 650 squares to make this King size throw and the squares not made from wool are breaking down and it is mostly these squares I'm replacing at present roughly 30 need replacing and yards and yards of seams I need to resew. A very slow but very rewarding job. I just love love this throw it is full of colour and so soft and cuddly. I use it on my bed every winter.

I have just replaced the square right in the middle.

To day I pulled out my 12 Days of Xmas quilt designed by Esther a few years ago and was run over a year as a free BOM What a generous lady she is.  I have hung it and taken some photo’s but the light is shinning in from out side both sides of it so it is not easy to show.

Designed by Esther a few years ago as a BOM called 12 Days of Xmas. It was such a lot of fun to make over 12 months. Thank you Esther you are a very generous lady.

I added more parcels to my quilt plus large red candles each side of the tree. You can see Esther's original design on her WOW or WIP's blog today.

I also placed my 3D tiny appliqué ovals on the side not on the tree these were such fun to make. I added a large star at the top of my tree. Finally I added my 3D bird of peace on my tree.

A little of nature now.

Night beetles start flying from now till Xmas, some are incredible beautiful in colour, others like this fellow rather large and hiss when they are frightened??????

Who's hiding in my pot??????

Not I said the big green tree frog!!!!! after I had removed the candle I found this large fellow, I'm so happy when I see them around the place as they eat the mosses.

Spider Orchid in full flower now.

Red ball lily in flower again, we have 5 flowers this year, so from one I now have 5. This lily flower fascinates me.

Fish pond to be has a sand pit around it now and the DGchildren love it.

Wonderful sand pit for the DG Children.

Now for some thing very different I have a Cross stitch set threads and adia cloth, called Australia Wild flowers.  I have decided that I will never have time to do it so if there is some one in Holland who would like to do it please email me.

A cross stitch kit of Australian wild flowers threads and black adia cloth included. Free to a good home of a Dutch quilter????? LOL.
