I have hung a kingsize grandmothers flower garden quilt over the window to stop the hot sun penetrating the room, on it is hanging the centre of Hearts Desire by Esther Aliu.

There ahs been a 1" shrinkage in this block, from all most a 12 1/2" block I have a square 11 1/2" block. A lot of shrinkage but it is all 1/4 quilted.

One of 12 1930 blocks I bought on EBay 15 years ago, Im repairing the beautiful wee pieces of fabric and then machine quilting the blocks. There has been a 1″ shrinkage in this block, from all most a 12 1/2″ block I have a square 11 1/2″ block. A lot of shrinkage but it is all 1/4 quilted.

I sat at the machine and appliquéd two of the birds on using bottom line and a very narrow but close zigzag stitch I have a very old 320 Bernina.

One of Ricky Tims designs Ive just added the birds. I call this Tropical Sunset. I sat at the machine and appliquéd two of the birds on using bottom line and a very narrow but close zigzag stitch I have a very old 320 Bernina.

WOW!!!! Glenda, you make me tired just looking at what you have worked on this year. I know that I have about that many UFOs lurking around my sewing area that have not been worked on this year, including two quilts for my granddaughter. I am going to try to finish one per month starting in January. Keep up the good work and always enjoy looking at your work. So many beautiful and diverse projects. Hope you and your have a Merry Christmas and as always a great New Year.

Wowsers! You are a busy woman, Glenda! This was really fun to see all your things in one spot. Your quilts are so appealing to me with the scrappiness, and the creativity. I adore your quilting on the 1930’s block. Have just seen something similar done with another, but your hatching in the middle really adds more. Your quilting skills are shining through!

What will the new year bring for you?

  8. Vireya says:

What a productive year you’ve had!

I don’t forget any of my UFOs as I have them in a document on my computer, which I keep updated every time I start a new project, work on an old one, or best of all, finish something!

Best wishes for a wonderful Christmas to you and yours.
