I often wonder how people find time to blog every day, I guess in another time they would have kept a diary! I never could keep them up LOL I have been babysitting and going to so many birthday dinners this week I have nothing new to show you. But I have had lots of fun with my DGD 4.
I like to add little bits of antique jewellery or button to finish off.
Silver dragon fly that wings move and a mother of pearl button.
Here you can see the gold tie I used the pink one is seen from the other side
I have throughly enjoyed making this side of the bag.
Making two little pockets for inside the bag. These were shoulder pads from a large Thai silk jacket, so are padded softly and Im putting a bias silk binding same silk as on one of the side of the bag!!!!! Now to sew them and insert in to bag. One I will leave as one pocket and the other I will sew a seam down the middle for two small pockets for keys.
Thiai silk that once was a shoulder pad LOL
Small pockets sit so nicely and are big enough to hold a mobile phone. Top one sewn on and the other one waiting.
For inside the bag. Now to cut out a iPad pocket for the other side of the bag using the back of the Thai silk jacket. I know that seems rather radical but it does not fit me any more and is out of date so why not use it as fabric instead of buying more????
Place two pieces of material right sides together. add a piece of wadding for protection and strength sew all around the pieces leaving 2″s so you can turn it inside out.
Quilt the pocket for strength and to stabilise it.
Add some silk bias all around the shape and there is your iPad pocket ready to be hand sewn on.
This morning I was looking for my Annabelle quilt to do some more work on it, I still have not found it!!!!!! but did find two Annabelle’s that I had added to the end of 2 woollen sleeves I had unpicked?????
A 100% woollen sleeve cut from a large woollen jacket.
Annabelle is stitched to what was the end of a woollen coat sleeve
Dear Dear Little Annabelle
Here I have cut the shape out for a small bag and added a couple of wee buttons at the sleeve edge! replacing small black ones that were there.
Annabelle in the veggie garden.
To day Indi DGD 4 and I racked up leaves I took 8 wheel barrow-loads down to the top of the slope for hubby to take down to the tip below????? See the tiny sunpatch top right hand corner that is about 6 metres down a slope.
Hubby does not have to do that now as Mr wild Bush Turkey scratched them all down to where you can see the sunlight, this is where he is thinking of building his nest????? hopefully he will clean the rest of the yard up for us, I will keep you posted on that one LOL
