15th June 2016 Playing is fun. Photo was taken this morning outside in-between the rain.

It was such a wild night last night I have woken up very tired after been woken constantly so I’m going to use my tutorial from the 10th when I started this wall quilt and will hopefully finish it today.

10th June My wall art I made up this morning with Fibonacci numbers?

I love circles and numbers. Iwas lying in bed this morning think about circles on a blank canvas then fibonacci numbers and then Kasuri fabrics; I just had to get up and do it straight away LOL I cut the 21inch square from the back of a woollen Kimono, all the Kasuri fabric were kimonos once and they a beautiful fabrics to the naked eye. I will hem the circles and the appliqué them on to the background and finish off doing white sasiko hand quilting around the circles.

I ironed on  iron-on-wash-away frezzer-paper to give me a sharp edge when hemming the circles, large pieces I only used a 1/2 inch strip circle but the small circles I used a solid circle.

I added iron on wadding to all the circles to give t more puffness

I added iron on wadding to all the circles to give  more of a 3D effect.

Have hemed

Have hemmed all the circles and still playing with placement and a planet?

Finally all pinned ready to be appliqué.

15th June this morning I only have a little Sashiko quilting to do now and then stitch on the cut out circle for the planet,  all the feed back has been FOR the planet so planet it will be LOL  This is what I will be sewing on today on my WOW.

Close up of sashiko quilting I get a great deal of pleasure out of doing it.

I love how you create new blocks with the circles. I still have my circles put away for another day LOL. I need to finish my other quilts before I start with them.
    Hugs

Thanks Bunny, it’s been a long time since I made up a quilt of my own design as 3 years ago I said to my self I had to complete some of my UFOs before making any more new ones so I have just been working on them but I do miss playing with fabrics so much I just had to make this one after seeing in in my dreams the other morning LOL I completed appliquing it last night and will sandwich it to day and start the sashiko quilting which I love doing. Hugs Glenda

I have never heard of the number thing you were talking about I must look it up LOL. Hugs

Live and learn LOL I love numbers they fascinate me! I’m constantly counting numbers for some reason, if I walk down a street I find my self counting the concrete joins and stepping over them LOL If Im using pins I find my self counting them ?????? Im a nut case!!! But you still love me LOL Hugs Glenda

  2. Jenny says:

Love your creativity with the circles. Am really taken with the planet effect, it adds another dimension, keen to see what you decide.
    Hugs Jenny

    • glenda says:

Dear Jenny thanks for saying you like the planet effect. I appliqué all the circles down last night but not the ring for the planet is effect I’m still not sure but as it needs to look 3D it will only be top stitched on so I can add it any time. Today I’m hoping to start Sashiko quilting it, this will give me more idea if to keep the planet or not. I’ve sure enjoyed making up a new design of my own again. Hugs Glenda

I’m all for adding the piece to make it a planet. My grandson is studying on becoming a “Planetary Geologist” or digging for rocks on Mars :). Don’t think he wants to become an Astronaut, just working with/from anything to do about Mars. He’s also at the perfect University for this. In any case its looking great with or without you adding anything else to the effect of turning it into another planet.

    • glenda says:

Dear Heidi every time I start wondering how you are I hear from you it is amazing how many times this happensLOL Thanks for giving me your opinion and now I WILL add the piece and turn it in to a planet and think of your GS when I look at it. I will call the quilt Mars!!!!!!! Big Hugs Glenda

What a lot of weather you’ve been having this season, if you know what I mean! Hope that you got some help with the tidy up needed.
Love your quiltlet – I love the Fibonacci series too, although I’ve never done anything with it. Your circles / planets look great!
PS My late FiL used to count too – we used to tease him about counting brussel sprouts into his bag when choosing them at the supermarket!
