Happy New Year every one,  I hope 2016 does not go as fast as 2015 did !!!!!  I spent the morning of the 1st of 2016 mostly sitting in my car watching this couple of Sunbirds working on their nest about 1 metre from me in our car port, they are similar to humming birds and normally very difficult to take photos off as they constantly flit from branch to branch. He spent the whole time trying to chase his image away that he could see in hubby’s car mirror while she flew backwards and forwards filling the inside of the nest with feathers and cobwebs for lining the nest, So I think she is about to lay her eggs.  In the end I  covered the mirror so he would calm down and help her LOL

such a beautiful little bird – I love that hook beak and the nest is quite unusual you do not see many making such a long nest like that – I think the eggs would be quite safe in one like that though.
