This week I have been sitting quietly sewing down my Zig Zags on my first piece of the first border, it is very very slow but very satisfying.  Photo taken on north veranda  were it  is so lovely and  cool to work IMG_1026

Last week I showed you my north side veranda full of ???????  I did finally clean it up and relocate most of it!~!!!!!!  Now that the hot weather has arrived so quickly it is lovely to work here.

North side veranda cleared and we had hubbys birthday dinner here on Friday night.

North side veranda cleared in time so we could have  hubby’s birthday dinner here on Friday night.

Hubby enjoys orchid plants so the below orchids where to add to his collection; these were his birthday present from me.  After flowering these will go out in to the garden till next year they grow so well here.

Today I received a surprise at 2pm I went out to my car and the Sunbirds had made their entrance to their nest, I was disappointed that I and missed them actually forming the entrance today but thrilled they had made it this far; so now we may have some eggs this spring and may be babies.  I can sit a metre away from them and watch and this does not worry them, they seem to know that with humans around their nests are safer .  Click on photo to see how cleaver they are at making an entrance.

We have had our first rain for many months about 2hrs ago and it has brought the frogs out of hibernation straight away.  Below photo shows you how small they are, that is a coconut beside them and a water tap connection in the right foreground. IMG_1034

On Tuesday the sweetest wee pair of Chinese shoes were handed in,  why I reduced them was because they had patchwork soles on them,  reason I noticed this one pair had a hole almost worn through on the sole.

I have turned one wee shoe inside out so you can see how the inner sole has been made

Hello Ginabeth, how I like the sound of your name it all ways makes me smile. So lovely to hear from you again, I’m still working on many of my WIP’s but this year most of my time has been spent on my 1930s Grandmothers flower garden Quilt. I’m adding a hexagon binding and quilting it as I go. My DGD wants to take it to UNI with her in 2016????? Cheers Glenda

    Hi Glenda,
Your LE is looking gorgeous and I so enjoy seeing the photo’s of your home and garden. Like Wendy, one day I would love to see your paradise in person, I have been googling Kuranda and it’s attractions and what a fabulous place you have chosen to live.
    Hugs, Jenny
