Baby sitting two adorable dogs at the beach 1st Oct 2014

Hello every one from Tropical Far North QLD  where life is good!!!!!!  It is the dry season which makes this place paradise this time of the year.  Spring is all around us from the new leaves to the tropical birds flying back in to make their nests. It is so lovely seeing them flit amongst the trees and bushes around the house not to mention their lovely calls to one another.

I’m back working on my centre of LE after months just ;looking mostly and working on border parts for it for the future, well thats what I tell my self LOL.  After seeing Narelle’s completed beautiful LE I just wish I had been able to spend more time on my lovely LE too over the last 12 months.  How the last 12 months have disappeared and now we are in to Oct 2014!!!!!!!

Vase 3 I worked on appliquéing these tiny leaves last week each one takes me so long to sew on.  I brought home a green silk jacket in the washing from the shop last week but could not remove the mark so I was thrilled as it will give me another green for my leaves on my vases

This jacket is hard to photograph as it is silk and the light keeps changing but it is a lovely green so a big bonus for my LE.

IMG_0917

Lots more work to do here at least a couple of months for me??????

While up the coast last week I managed to do 2 slits in my hearts these I’m doing by making Colonial knots and French knots as I’m working in silks this fabric would shed to much if I tried needle turning these slits so hence the embroidery here.

Close up of those French knots and Colonial knots  it’s a slow way of doing this area but for me it is satisfying and relaxing as I make them.

I will also make the same knots on my tiny pink hearts here.

UPDATE  6pm Wednesday 1st Oct 2014

Adding my centre top flower, I added the flower to the left of it this avo using the green silk from the silk jacket?????

IMG_0934

Have added a deep purple circle behind the red and now I’m much happier with the look.  Now to appliqué all these tiny pieces in place, hopefully tonight??????

Sai sitting blowing bubbles while Becky looks on trying to work out what he was eating I think LOL

Jack and Becky settling down for their night.  Such lovely dogs they were a joy to look after.

A rhino beetle that was in the garden one morning.

IMG_0877

My camera would not focus up class for some reason this fellow makes a very loud hissing noise when he feels threatened, and my little DGS was not impressed and did not want to have any thing to do with him LOL.

Final night Hubby and I took a picnic down to the beach and watched the dusk creep over the sea and beach it was very beautiful.

IMG_0882

I came home to a completed swimming pool deck, hubby had worked so so hard while I was a way to complete it as a surprise for when I came home and it sure was.

IMG_0887 IMG_0889

We sit out here for most of our meals now it is so lovely.

IMG_0893

I have completed appliquéing the oblong patches all around this quilt, now I need to quilt them as they are too big to leave floating I think thats one of the reasons why the original ones shed so quickly compared to the rest of the quilt. the dark oblong has given it a darker look but makes the patches in between stand out more than the lighter oblongs did so I’m happy with how it looks now.

IMG_0816

This is the original quilt with the verydamaged light beige oblong patches.

IMG_0895

Our tiny Sunbirds are making a nest in our garage but I’m not sure if they will finish it as they are only very young birds but they are learning how to weave!!!!!

IMG_0898

Here the male is sitting on a orchid stem they are extremely hard to photograph as they are constantly on the move like a butterfly.

IMG_0899

Here he is again he is so light the stem is not even bending?????

Out my kitchen window this morning I do miss this view when I’m away it is so lush and green always.

IMG_0911

This orchid is still in full bloom what a joy it is to see it each morning bobbing in the breeze.

IMG_0912

While I was away the orange blossom was in full bloom so I missed it all this is the last of it.

IMG_0913

My lovely deck where I’m about to go out and have lunch on!!!!!

IMG_0915

This is the head of the orchid that that tiny sunbird was having fun on it is about 2 1/2 inches across so it is not even very big??????

your LE is coming along so nicely – maybe I can get back to my center this fall – so much to do to get caught up on things here at the house now that we are home again.I didn’t see the LE that is almost finished – will need to go look at the photos it sounds like someone was busy.
