WOW 9th July 2014 with Esther http://www.estheraliu.blogspot.com

Word Press has revised and Updated  its lay out and I’m lost??????

It  has taken me hours to work out  how to upload the photo’s??????

Now I have to work out how to write here!!!!!!. I have given up trying to work out how to add the captions??????

My photo’s are all out of order but when I try to arrange them they are mostly deleted????

Close up of GMFG

I have completed one edge of my 1930’s GMFG quilt.  All though it is extremely time consuming it is well worth the extra mile to get this lovely hexagon edge.  I’m having to remake all the last original hexagons as they are all to big. In the quilt it self the green and white hexagons are too big but have been eased in when been joined to the flowers, the white paths and the green grass are all slightly bigger than the flowers!!!!!

Close up of the hexagon edge now completed, the more I work on this quilt the more I discover and the more I fall in love with it. I have made 50 new hexagons using reproduction 1930’s prints which are such fun to work with, and remade the last 50 hexagons on this bottom edge of the quilt. I’m using wash away iron on freezer paper and leaving it in.  This is giving a nice firm but soft edge to the quilt. I’m also quilting the hexagons edge as I make it and randomly quilting the rest of the quilt as I feel like it.

I did finish the chairs I was upholstering last week and they have gone back to the Opp Shop to be sold, I forgot to take a photo of them finished?????  Now I have this side table to fix, the draw is broken and the varnish damaged so that needs rubbing back, the draw fixed and the cane given a lot of scrubbing and demoulding?????  It is thick with mould. Living in the rainforest it is our worst enemy.

Late after-noon sun was shinning on the the top of the range last night and all the golden tones were been reflected in to the river below our house, it is the first time I have seen this and my camera was near by and I caught it before it disappeared.

Taken down at Cairns water front, I had to wait for an hour on Monday for a pick up so walked here and had a coffee, this is part of the children’s free water play area, one of my favourite spots.

A wallaby, they are not scared and eat the grass in the back paddock and I sat and eat lunch while they  watched me and I watched them to day LOL.

Billabong is a Wiradjuri word that is used for an oxbow lake, an isolated pond left behind after a river changes course.

This is called a Billabong so peaceful and quiet.  This one becomes a raging creek in the wet and runs at the back of  Jon and Laure’s property

This has taken me hours to do so I’m giving up for this week !!!! Hopefully I will have worked out how to use it more by next week. LOL.

Thanks for those of you who got to this far of my blog to day????
