Nature at it’s best.  One Of our blue orchids in the garden.

I really think I should not be doing this, so many things have gone on the blink today including my WOW blog I have written all ready today & then the computer froze up & I lost it all as the computer had to be switched off in the end & be rebooted!!!!!! My own fault as I had not been saving. SO this is my second attempt dropping a line before the links are closed!!!!!!

Our day started off beautifully sunny warm & very still with the only noise the birds dawn chores which goes from around 5am till 9.30am even a kookaburra visited us.

Sitting in my kitchen window tree

All 10 of us one by one ended up around the swimming pool at different times eating our breakfast it now looks very empty & lonely.

An empty spot till breakfast each morning

Then we had one of the toilets block & over flow thank goodness it was the one down stairs, so that was a delightful job to clean up.

Paola started to work on her last shirring dress & my trusty old Bernina 830 let me down, she went in to over drive at full speed & took off, I yanked out the treadle foot but she was still roaring away so yanked out the power supply. So it is off to the magic Bernina repair man when possible.

Well it looks like there will be no photo’s this week, my computer is refusing to upload any photo’s?????

One of our Canadian guests left this after-noon & I have already stripped the bed & remade it & now it is covered with Esther’s blocks!!!!!!!!!!!

Esther's quilt laying on a bed again???????

I did not even let the dust settle first???????

Our American girls left 30 mins ago heading further up North & are planning on sleeping beside a beach some where tonight. They are travelling in a wee wee mini van

Girls mini mini campervan????

& having so much fun seeing the far north.

Today I have been doing endless loads washing as the family is packing up tomorrow to be ready for a 4.20am start Saturday morning, the disadvantages of an early flight. The above is just a few things that happened today!!!!!!!

Well  good news, hubby has managed to fix my sewing machine, the light was shorting out & was causing the problem; so he has disconnected the light & I have my machine for tomorrow so maybe Paola will be able to finish her dress & my computer has woken up & has allowed me to down load some photo’s?????? What a good way to end a bad day. Oh yes & hubby was also able to fix the loo problem, airn’t hubby’s a great invention??????? On that note I will say goodnight

Hi Glenda, I love your blue orchid. A co-worker brought me back from Thailand 3 baby and I do mean baby orchids that were set in the clear gel so they can get roots, late last year, they are (will be) blue cattleyas, I put them in a pot with bark and are sitting in my kitchen window, it took them a long time to do much of anything, Michael the guy who gave them to me said, that the clear gel that they start them in is like “crack cocaine” for them and are hard to wean off of it, well I’ve succeeded they each are on their 2nd new leave and all are growing new roots as well. Just found sugar ants in their pot and had to clean it out, the sugar ants are getting very aggressive right now as it’s over 100 here in Houston every day and NO rain, horrible drought all over Texas, so the tiny sugar ants are looking for a cool dark spot, and my orchids are a perfect place for them. Just cleaned up another orchid which had literally millions of tiny eggs all in the pot with the sugar ants and all happened within 24 hours as I check on them every day. Since you live in the rain forest I know you’ve got your own set of problems with mother nature to deal with. Hopefully once I retire I can figure out to start a blog and submit pictures and partake in the WOW, it looks like a lot of fun to be part of of it. I’m off today and tomorrow, hence me lurking about, take care, Heidi, and hope you get a bit o rest from all of your family and friends.

Hi Heide, lovely to hear from you again, seems ages since we talked. Yes we sure do have our share of pests, latest is the fire ants which have just arrived in QLD; the government is trying to eradicate them. We unfortunately have them as close as a street away from our house, it is extremely painful if they bite you & they are so tiny so difficult to see & find the nests. I’d rather the snakes & spiders than these ants. Hope you join us in the blog world next year. Cheers Glenda

Sounds as if you have been very busy, Glenda!

I bet you will be glad to get back to Heart’s Desire soon.
    It is looking lovely already!

    Hi Glenda,
Yes, DH arte a great idea, I know mine has saved many a machine in this house! You sound like you’ve had ‘one of those days’ filled with all sorts. I love that you re-claimed your bed so quickly for Hearts Desire and I love the look of your Orchid too. Blue! Makes me think about my flower quilt. Always love dropping by to visit you….
