WOW or WIP’s with Esther. 11th Sept 2019.

Seems strange that I have not done any sewing for nearly 4 weeks.   Now when I could my eyes won’t focus I’m hoping it’s the drugs I’m on  and when I stop taking them I can hand sew again.

THe background is cut from a 1950’s dollie and the embroidery is lovely, the. The hearts and corners are cut from a 1970 1980 serviete that’s been hand dyed by Val very lovely.  My mum used these and I still use them?!

I have found my self on the receiving end of Healing Hearts instead of sending them .  I never thought this would happen.

A Beautiful KF heart I love his colours but have not worked that often with them, but I did a weekend retreat with him on knitting in NZ about 35 years ago and I admire him so much, I learnt so much about colour that weekend?

I often wondered if these wee hearts did help and here Iam now able to say how much they DO help,

I love the back ground in this wee heartblock,  Nancy has raw edge machine appliqued these wee pieces.  Again it arrived in the mail when I needed a good boost.

Every heart that I have received has arrived when I needed a boost.  They took me out of my pain or feeling sorry for my self back in to how wonderful life is.

Then just when I was in so much pain one after noon Mary’s lovely hearts  arrived to make me stop thinking about my self, I remembered using the lovely Japanese blossom in one of my quilts and just loved that fabric.

Ive enjoyed looking up where the HH came from and learn8ng a little about the person who sent it and now they are more than just a name to me.

Yesterday on our way home from having a brain MRI  we stoped to clear the mail and there was this lovely Heart made from the Pohutikawa flower,  this is from a tree that grows on the coasts of NZ and is often called the Christmas tree as it flowers mid summer and that’s Christmas time in NZ. So it brought back lots of lovely memories and made me for get the pain.

Below is where I’m sitting in bed looking out. Isn’t it a stunning and beautiful place to recover in ???

Well not a long post but a post?

Thank you All for all your best wishes they sure helped to keep my spirits up over the last 3 weeks.

  1. Glenda, I’m so sorry I didn’t know you were in pain! I was gone in August and busy so far this month. I’m glad other people were caring enough to send you the Happy Hearts. I pray the MRI finds the problem and the pain can be alleviated! God bless you!

Glenda Was it a knee replacement that you had done? I wonder as you said you had a brain MRI so I am thinking maybe you had complications? Are you in a rehabilitation center now? I do hope you well be well soon and on your way home. Thinking of you

Lovely to see your name here Karen I was just thinking of you as I came in and was going to drop you a line. Yes I had a lot of blood pressure problems and was not aloud to do any exercise off the bed the first 5 days, so that put me well behind with rehab. SO had to stay in hospital another week!!!! Its a slow recover for me but I will get there like the turtle LOL

  4. Oh, dear — I’ve not been keeping up with blogs over the last few weeks and didn’t realize you had all of this going on! I hope you’re doing a lot better now, and will be back to good health and full sewing ability soon!

    Dear Glenda

Hope you are done with the rehab. Not fun when we have to stay longer than we expected to in hospital. Sending you lots of love and good wishes. With your beautiful view, you will be feeling better and sewing away in no TIME.
