Ariving  in Brisbane, it is the  capital of our state.

Please some one slow down time???  It is all ready May and I have not completed any quilts yet???   My year is running or may be galloping so fast past me???   I can not even find time to blog each week this year?

We flew South to one of Ozzie’s beautiful beaches and stayed there 2 weeks.

Then my DDIL asked if I would repair their quilt I made my son when he first went to Uni 20 plus years ago. It was the first quilt I made .

Sadly it falling apart just due to constant use. Some thing any quilter loves to see as it tells you it has been loved and used. I stitched down some applique that was falling off and patched a nasty pice of fabric that had parted just so worn.

I need to go to bed so will leave it as is, and post some photo of the garden tomorrow.   But will share my lovely flowering orchid with you first.  5D9250CF-71A5-428B-9C07-7C7F26F00254

things grow so fast here and if you don’t prune quickly they grow where you don’t want them to like this branch has grown through the Grandchildren’s basketball hoop in the garden???

Like my kitchen srve

Like my kitchen serve ??? My DGD loves to catch the tiny fish in the pond which there are 100’s. So she borrowed my serve one day, it was hung on a Brocken branch and over the wet season the branch regrew and has covered the handl completely???  We don’t stand still for long around here or we would be swallowed up by the trees?!

The handle end is completely swallowed by the tree? !

  1. Oh, gosh, Glenda — I don’t think I’d get much sewing or blogging done either, if I was surrounded by so much majestic natural beauty!! The quilt you are repairing for your son and DIL is gorgeous with all of that hand embroidery and I’m so glad they brought it back to you to give it the “stitch in time that saves nine.” Finally, that little block you just made is my favorite one in the entire DJ quilt and I love the fabrics you’ve chosen. Someday, someday, I hope to make a DJ variant of my own!

Hi Rebecca, I’m back home again, and it was lovely to find the rain had finally stopped and the leeches, ticks, mosquitos, and sand flies had all most all gone????? I had to laugh when I read A stitch in time!!! My grandmother was all ways saying that to me LOL Hope you start your DJ soon, don’t wait mine has been growing for 15 years LOL She is such a a great friend DJ, when ever I pick her up again she is all ways so loving to work on?????? It will be an interesting quilt when finsihed with all the different fabrics as mine is scrappy? Cheers Glenda

Hi Karen, and yes I wish LOL Some one asked if it was me on the back of my sons bike I put up on my FB but it was my hubby and yes I wished it was me going for a ride too, But it would take me all day to climb up behind him as the bike is huge, it would be like riding a very very fat horse to me LOL !!!! my minds willing but not the body? Yes it was one of the best I have ever had, very very spoilt. Cheers Glenda

Glad you had a chance to relax beach side. We have a local dairy that makes a yogurt called Noosa. I think they say the culture came from your Noosa.

Lovely to see you Kyle, what a holiday it was, I could of stayed there another couple of weeks with no problems. I did come home to a lovely dry home and grounds as the rain has finally stopped. Saying that we now have cyclone Ann about to hit the top of the cape Far North of us and that will bring a lot of rain next week !!!!! If you ever get the chance visit it Noosa and its endless beautiful beaches plus the Hinterlands around it. Those beaches are so magical. Cheers Glenda
