A beautiful cloud formation early in the morning.

A beautiful cloud formation early in the morning.

It will be a short blog as not much to show this week.

Last week I showed these 1930’s  1/4 circle pieces that I bought from USA about 15 years ago, I had laid them out in a snow ball design using some around 2010 darker fabrics I want to show off the light wee pieces of the 1030’s fabrics mostly rescued  fabric from shirts and dresses.  All well worn but still has some yardage left in them.

Think

I’m going to stay with this lay out.

Remaking

Having to remake most of these 1/4 circles as they are so out of shape and I would have to cut to much fabric off them to get a square, so unpicking realigning and sewing a much narrower seam to get them to end up finally at a  9inch   Square

Have marked

Have marked my ironing board cloth so I make sure I’m ironing it in to a square.

My first of 35

My first of 35 wee snowball blocks.  I’m just over 1/2 way now.i

My little companion is in the vets and hopefully will be home late this afternoon, she had a tummy upset.  I miss her so much. Just rang the vets and she has to stay on the drip another 24 hrs?  But hopefully home tomorrow.

But finally I ended up with a much better lay out for my work stations  for my machines.  Plus new pop-out draws that are so so much easier to use.

Love your rescued blocks and the layout. So cheerful! Also loved seeing your garden! Sadly, I no longer have a staghorn fern. Mine died a long time ago. A little difficult to manage in our hot Texas weather – and difficult to keep over winter. Hope your little companion can come home tomorrow. I’ve had mine to the vet today for his annual shots and heartworm test. Tomorrow the cat gets her turn, something that’s not quite as pleasant as taking the dog, since she complains all the way there and back. I was excited to see your red and green quilt. I’ve completed the blocks for one that’s almost identical. Just need to put the blocks together now and quilt it. Unfortunately, I got distracted with my LE, as well as Diamond Hill and Love Always, so there’s no telling when I’ll finish it. Sorry to hear about your cold spell. Wish I trade some of our Texas heat for your cool weather! Love your blog – and your WIP posts on Wednesdays!

    Good morning Glenda,
it’s a gold idea to marking the ironboard! The background fabric from the cirkleblocks, I love them! Old and new fabric in comination, it’s so wonderful. Love the gartenfotos. Greetings, Marita

    Dear Glenda

I just love all the light and the beauty which surrounds you. Your sewing room must be like walking into a painting. Your garden is always green and it looks cool and inviting. Thank you for sharing all the inspiration with us. Now I know why you enjoy the berries so much, they are in your garden, growing and spurring you on, to create them in fabric.

It’s a great layout for your circle blocks. The 30’s fabrics get center stage with the darker backgrounds. Your garden always amazes me. It’s so lush with incredible colors. Glad your sewing space got put back together with new drawers.

  5. So much loveliness, Glenda! Fabulous idea to mark the cloth on the ironing board. Your rescued circle blocks look great against the dark backgrounds and your red and green appliqué is stunning! I enjoyed all the garden photos, too.
