Love this design so much.

The lovely embroidered blocks were made for me by Bunny from Canada who is a moderator on Esther’s BOM group so they are very special

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My corners were hand embroidered and silk hearts but I felt the block was too dark?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

So I added a smaller cherry red heart and what a difference it has made.

Well I have sewn one seam this time LOL

SO thats what I;ve been doing this morning LOL

My Secret Garden is still with me it is underneath my Peaceful Pathway I’m appliquéing down the petals on the centre piece and playing with my flowers !!!!!!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I felt my flowers were been over shadowed by the terrace colours?  I recently were given some paint colouring in pencils so out came the yellow and my yellow flower was given a face lift!!!!!!! LOL

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Then one of my blue flowers was given the same treatment what a difference a day makes so now I have to paint the others too!!!!! May be this avo they will get done?

Peaceful Pathways is so pretty – keep going and it will soon be finished!!

    • glenda says:

Thanks Jenny, Sadly I have a couple of must get finished projects before mid Dec so it will be put on hold again in a few days time but it was lovely to get out and I’ve realised I was about to use the reds I’d bought for this quilt on some thing else so I will rescue them and put them away with the quilt top as I’m sure I’d not be able to buy it now to many years have past. Cheers Glenda.

wow Glenda! you have the most amazing wips, every time I read your blog there is another beauty to see 🙂

    • glenda says:

LOL Elaine they are more like UFO’s than WIP’s as they get put away far to often. But I will ahve plenty to work on if I ever become house bound in my old age LOL Hugs Glenda

What beautiful work – and what busy hands and head you have, with so many beautiful projects to choose from! Delightful. I particularly like the Peaceful Pathways project – so special!

    • glenda says:

LOL plum I have 5 WIPs going at the moment, Secret Garden, Diamond Hill , Peacefulpathways, and Hearts Desire, All designed by Esther Alice, a quilt top of NZ And OZ fabrics I’m making up as I go, and last night I pulled out a stack and slash fan I slashed when I taught this around 15 years ago, I found them last night? I had them all wrapped in a Square of material I’d made the slashes from, last night I couldn’t help my self and sewed one pile in to a fan and lay it on a black square, it’s all ready to be machine appliqué down? So another WIP is now added to the list LOL. Hugs Glenda PS will show the fan stake and slash block next week!

  4. Karen says:

wow those quilts are looking wonderful – I don’t think I have ever seen photos of the first one. The garden quilt is a beauty

    • glenda says:

Hi Karen, when we have flowers bloom in our garden down here they are all so exotic, but we don’t have them for long so I guess thats why I love making flowers for my quilts LOL Ive managed to do a little sewing on Peace Pathways but not much, but I am getting all the patterns and materials together so when it goes away again I can put every thing away together this time????? then next time I wont need to spend days hunting bits and pieces to be able to sew????? Cheers Glenda

  5. Those cherry hearts worked magically. Love what you’re doing with the flowers. So many lovely projects, Glenda.

Hi Angie, interesting how a little colour can change the whole look to a painting or picture. I’m pencil painting some of my fabric flowers as they are where little drab in the centre of my SG and it sure has brightened up the centre and now I’m much happier with how it is looking. Found some stack and slash fabric I cut up around 20 years ago when teaching how to do them, I kept these ones just to show what they would be doing and making so they had an idea what kind of fabric to buy, yesterday I made one up these ones are cut to make fans I showed some photo’s on my FP today. Cheers Glenda

Hi Glenda, what beautiful eye candy you have shown us today. Haven’t been doing much sewing lately, too many problems have come up. The worst was a plumbing issue that needed my linen closet emptied–now I have to clean up the mess and try to re-organize and put things away. Have a couple of projects to make–some microscope and camera covers for a friend. He drafted me a couple of patterns, has OK’d the fabric and now I need to start cutting. I have almost found my cutting table. After Christmas, we are going to start on our new hobby room–can’t wait!!! Take care and have a great holiday season. Julie Griswold

Dear Julia thanks for dropping in, it all ways feels like you visit when you write to me. Sounds like a ghastly problem, hope you did not loose any of your linen and not to much building structure need repair as well. Lately I have been doing a lot of repair work on clothes for some reason or another, every one thinks they are just 5min jobs but they all take an hour or more????? My DGD daughter 4 wanted a seam repaired on a dress but I said no we would do it together so now she knows how long a 2inch repaired seam takes and how to do it her self LOL He rChristmas present will be her own 1960’s singer sewing machine, one I will set up here and she can use when ever she wants to. Hugs Glenda
