WOW or WIP’s with Esther 25th Oct @ 1st Nov 2017

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Where I was up to last week on Esther’s SG centre !!!!  I have to remake my centre as it like a piece of leather two many layers of fabric and glue, I can not get away with my mistake I made ironing it to the ironing cloth LOL Plus I hate the machine applqiue in the dead centre but it was the only needle that would go through all the thicknesses!!!!!

Ohhhh my gosh it’s the 1st of November Shudder shudder!!!!!!  To close for Christmas for me?

I was not able to blog last week as my computer was down after the storm and I lost a lot of my photo’s but it took my hubby hrs to retrieve them all back I think?????

M

I may completely change my centre of this block, will wait till all the blocks and placement are revealed and then decide!!!!!!!  Not using this but tried it????

Update  Placement of my blocks that I have completed so far 2nd Nov 2017

I lost all my photo’s from 4 months ago when my iMax was updated most of them have been recovered and while searching I came across these ones from when I first started quilting 20 years ago.  Below 7 quilts were made in PNG where I learnt by trial and error no patterns up there just make up what you thought a quilt was meant to be LOL

Start of a challenge of a only black and white quilt top.

Start of   a challenge that was to be  only a black and white quilt top with leaves of 3 countries mine were Canadian maple, Papua New Guinea heart leaves and Australian gum leaves.  It ended up with coloured butterflies coming out from the centre and flying off the sides of the quilt top after the challenge was over.  I love colour LOL  !

One more completed QAYG hanky block, I’m suing a lovely 100%wool batting in these so they are so light and soft when finished.

Glad you were able to retrieve your photos. That must have been quite a storm. I’ve found that sometimes the center has to be changed a little as the quilt evolves. Good, luck.

    • glenda says:

Hi Kyle I do have a backup attached to my computer but it was finding them that was the problem LOL It kept downloading the photo’s I all ready had!!!!! I still have not found the yellow I want to try for my centre but I will just don’t know when LOL Cheers Glenda

  2. Karen says:

all those flowers are just so lovely – I so envy you your beautiful garden plants. Your quilts too are all so pretty. Don’t you hate computer problems! I try to remember to back up my computer every couple days and finally got an external drive (?) called “My Passport” you leave it plugged in all the time or every other day or at the end of the day and it backs it all up for you.

    • glenda says:

Hi Karen the garden is full of colour at present, plus lots of birds, butterflies, insects and frogs all nightLOL I do have an external drive but Hubby had problems getting it to download the photo’s that were missing it kept thinking it new beat and kept downloading the photo’s I still had so he had to trick it in to doing what he wanted it to do!!!!!!! Computers do have a mind of their own!!!!! Because my computer is on 24 24 it backs up every few hrs thank goodness. Hugs Glenda

  3. I’m so glad you were able to recover the photo’s, there’s nothing worse than loosing those memories. Your quilts are absolutely beautiful even if you didn’t have patterns your creativity is simply stunning. I am sorry to hear your puppy was upset by the storm, luckily mine takes all storms in his stride and they don’t seem to bother him thankfully. Your centre for secret garden is looking beautiful and I can’t wait to see all the blocks together.

    • glenda says:

Thanks Annette it was a lot of fun learning like that you just did what you liked with out people saying no thats the wrong way LOL I always say you learn by mistake more than any other way. My baby underwater quilt was trigged by a children’s painting book that just kept growing LOL!!!! Cheers Glenda

  4. Eleanor Smith StitchinSpain says:

Lovely Glenda, love your garden and all the quilts you have made.

    • glenda says:

HI Ellie it’s great to see old quilts I’ve made as I have so many UFO’s I forget how many quilts I have completed till I see old photos LOL Cheers Glenda

  5. Plum Cox says:

Glad that your photos have been retrieved – but quite pleased that it made you review some older photos and share your earlier quilts with us! I loved the three leaves black and white one in particular, but really love the idea of adding colourful touches to complete it!
Hope that your storm damage wasn’t too bad. Sounds like it was a nasty one. I love the excitement of storms, but only ever have them for a few minutes!

    • glenda says:

Hi Plum lovely to catch up, I’ve been in over drive for a couple of months with visitors so sadly my sewing and mail has suffered and I’ve so enjoyed this year as I’ve caught up on so many of my WIPs and UFO,s but I think it will all be set aside till Feb now with Christmas, school holidays, summer and the New Year as we will have family in and out till the end of Jan now. But I love having it that way so sewing will have to be put on hold even longer. Worst part of this storm was the damage to so many peoples landlines so they have lost their internet connection which so many people rely on now. Off to visit you Hugs Glenda
