This morning I spent the morning writing up a blog for my 2016 365 Quilty Circle challenge put together by Audrey. As I will be away most of the day Im using this blog for my link to WOW or WIP’S with Esther to day. Happy sewing every one who loves to hold a needle in their hands. Cheers Glenda
Hello ALL other Quiltey 365 members and wishing you ALL a Merry Christmas.
Audrey a big THANK YOU for giving so much of your time to bring us this challenge. Im sure at times you felt like it was just tooooo much to keep going but you did and I for one appreciate what you did for us all.
What a wonderful challenge this was I loved every moment of it, I love circles so for me this was the best ever challenge LOL I missed linking up the last 4 months because Id forget it was anew month!!!!! then when I went in to join it was closed but have so enjoyed seeing all your progress with your own circles.
I did not make 365 little blocks but did make over 365 circles some of my wee blocks have 2 or 3 circles on them.
I started making these delightful little blocks end of Dec 2015 and here I am now

My treasure chest is a box of 90 4 1/2 inch silk squares and circles for each one some have 2 or 3 circles!!!!!!; they are waiting for a thread to be run around them. How I love playing with these tiny blocks and circles.
As of today I have one wee mini quilt made of 90 squares, 90 more squares completely sewn together for another wee wall quilt and there are 250 circles on these blocks; and there are 90 squares cut with circles cut out see my treasure chest LOL so Ive completed my challenge, I have not yet sewn all my last 90 little squares together and my 2nd lot of tiny 90 squares sewn together have not turned in to a quilt yet LOL
Back in April getting ready to sandwich my first completed quilt of 90 tiny squares.

May My 365 circles, I have sashiko quilted around all the circles around the edges and now just have the centre circles to quilt around. to do.
May 2016
First week in June

a pile of circles waiting to have the threads run around the out side to pull in over the freezer paper ready to be appliquéd on to the tiny 4 1/2 inch squares.
Now some other circles Ive been playing with this year .

Centre is tiny flowers cut from silk then fused on to back ground and blanket stitched down with embroidery centres.

My Dream of a Penny Rug. I was recently given an old W11 Australian Army blanket and my dream of making a Penny Rug started from there.

First 1/2 of this adorable quilt Im working on now all sewn together. now working on the other 1/2 will add this yellow around the blocks for my border.
Yes I loveeeeee circles even a water circle!!!!!!!
Thank you again Audrey for setting up the link Please take care. Hugs Glenda
